Bama commit visits AU

Defensive end LaMichael Fanning has already verbally committed Alabama, but he spent about 90 minutes at Auburn's athletic complex Thursday morning on an unofficial visit.
"I came in and talked with Coach (Tracy) Rocker," Fanning said. "He showed me everything with the d-line, the depth charts and everything. I talked with Coach (Gene) Chizik and he asked me how everything was going. He was telling me how I could play here and how my playing time would be good."

Fanning said he remains committed to Alabama, however, he feels that he should at least check out other schools to see what they have to offer.
The 6-foot-6 end plays locally at Auburn High School and is familiar with AU, but Fanning believes he has more to learn about the Tigers.
"Auburn is a good place," Fanning said. "I think there's a lot more to see. I haven't come on any real visit yet, like an official visit or anything like that."
Rocker, Auburn's defensive line coach, has been recruiting Fanning. The Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award winner has impressed Fanning with his honesty.
"Coach Rock is cool," Fanning said. "He's going to tell you like it is. There's no holding back, no faking."
Fanning added that he will likely come back to Auburn in a few weeks. He doesn't plan on visiting any other schools any time soon. In the past he has seen Florida, Clemson and Georgia.
