Naples (Fla.) running back Carlin Fils-aime needed just one visit to Auburn before naming the Tigers his favorite.
Fils-aime, ranked the No. 14 running back, arrived in Auburn early on Friday and stayed throughout the day. His parents accompanied him on his visit.
"It honestly was amazing," Filse-aime said. "I'd have to say Auburn is the favorite. I loved coming here."
Fils-aime, 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, toured the campus and facilities and met in-depth with offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee and running backs coach Tim Horton. The two coaches showed Fils-aime about the Tigers' offense and how they see him fitting.
Auburn's hurry-up no-huddle attack impressed Fils-aime.
"I really liked it. It has a lot of mixtures and is very tricky," he said. "If you don't pay attention on the defensive side, the offense will slip past you. I really liked that. The offense is a big plus."
Fils-aime plans to see it in action this fall. He's not sure if he will have an entire weekend to take an official visit, but a trip for a game already is in the plans.
"I'd like to see the atmosphere, how crazy it gets," Fils-aime said. "I definitely would like to come back for a game."
Fils-aime could be committed by then. He hopes to be ready to make a decision by Aug. 1. He's visited hometown Miami and now Auburn. He's going to Georgia on Saturday, North Carolina on July 21 and Tennessee on July 23.
"(Auburn) is actually a little bit ahead (of Miami)," he said. "The only thing holding it back is the distance from home, but I don't think that will be a factor."
One thing that could be a factor is Auburn having room for him in its 2016 class. The Tigers have a commitment from four-star Malik Miller and don't plan to take many more.
"They said they are only taking two backs in this class and that they really want me," Fils-aime said. "But if another back commits before I do, they won't have a spot for me."
Fils-aime, who runs a 4.42-second 40-yard dash, is ranked the No. 51 overall player in Florida.
