Auburn leaves 'great impression' on 2024 OG

Eddy Pierre-Louis has been busy lately.

The 4-star offensive guard in the 2024 class made Auburn one of his stops during his recent road trip around the southeast Sunday.

"It went real good, got a little connection with Coach [Christian] Robinson and Coach [Will] Friend," Pierre-Louis said. "It was really cool."

Pierre-Louis began his road trip at the Rivals Underclassmen Challenge in Atlanta Friday, where he won Offensive Line MVP. He also participated in the bench press competition, completing 26 reps of 225 pounds.

With his robustness at the guard position, it's not a surprise that the 6-foot-4 Tampa native has racked up over 50 offers.

It's a "humbling" experience for him, having that many offers before his junior year, but Pierre-Louis isn't shifting his focus.

"I just worked hard for this, so I just gotta keep grinding," Pierre-Louis said. "I just know there’s a big target on my back, so I gotta keep working, keep grinding."

Pierre-Louis visited Alabama Saturday, picking up an offer from the Crimson Tide before reconnecting with some of the staff at Auburn on Sunday.

"Coach Robinson, I knew him through Florida," Pierre-Louis said. "We knew each other since like 2018, so we have a great connection together. Coach Friend, he recruited me last year, he’s a real cool coach, he produces great offensive lineman."

Auburn's need for offensive linemen and early playing time is a big selling point for the Tigers.

"For me, I’m trying to play early," Pierre-Louis said. "I know I can play early, I just gotta keep working, keep grinding, develop my body even more and I know I can play here."

If there's anyone who knows about playing football at Auburn, it's a pair of his high school coaches — Jeris McIntyre and Dontarrious Thomas. The two coaches played their college ball for the Tigers in the early 2000s.

"They just be boosting up my head up a little bit, me and my teammate Lewis [Carter]," Pierre-Louis said. "They try to throw it in there and be like ‘This where you need to go,’ a little bit."

Pierre-Louis will be at Clemson Monday and Georgia Tech Tuesday, before returning home to the Sunshine State and a possible trip to Miami.

He does not plan to officialy cut down schools until around December, but after this weekend, Auburn is in a good spot to make the cut.

"Oh yeah, [Auburn]’s very much up there, top 10," Pierre-Louis said. "I like it very much, they left a great impression over here."
