Auburn expecting 4 4-stars Friday
Four members of the Rivals250 are expected to be in Auburn this weekend.
AUBURN | Auburn will play host to five visitors this weekend, the next-to-last weekend before Signing Day on Feb. 3.
Four of the recruits will be on campus for official visits. Auburn High kicker Sage Ledbetter is the lone unofficial visitor. Ledbetter, who has accepted an invited walk-on offer from Auburn, is scheduled to take an unofficial visit on Saturday.
The four official visitors all are ranked four-star recruits and members of the Rivals250. Peachtree Ridge (Ga.) four-star safety Nigel Warrior, who is No. 92 on the list, arrived in Auburn on Thursday. The three other visitors are four-star offensive tackle E.J. Price (184), Kentucky four-star cornerback commitment Jordan Griffin (191) and Auburn four-star safety commitment Marlon Character (239). Price, Griffin and Character all arrived on Friday and will leave Sunday.
Warrior and his mother are scheduled to leave for Tuscaloosa Saturday morning. The No. 4 safety will visit Tennessee next weekend. The Vols are presumed to be the team to beat. Dale Carter, Warrior’s father, starred at Tennessee in the early 90s.
Price, from Archer in Lawrenceville, Ga., has taken visits to USC, Michigan State and LSU. Next weekend is Georgia. The former high school teammate of Auburn freshman receiver Kyle Davis will announce his decision on Signing Day. Most signs point to him choosing either in-state Georgia (again) or Auburn.
Griffin has been high on Auburn’s board for months, but he’s been committed to Kentucky. The corner from Jonesboro, Ga., seems fairly solid to UK, but he’s intrigued enough with Auburn to visit. Griffin's parents and other family members are planning to be with him during the visit.
Character, from Grady in Atlanta, is traveling to Auburn on Friday with his father, his father’s fiance and his younger brother. Character moved up his Auburn visit from next week’s previously scheduled visit. He continues to be solid to the Tigers.
