Auburn assigns recruiting areas to new coaches
Auburn’s three newcomers to its coaching staff have been assigned recruiting areas.
Chip Lindsey, Larry Porter and Greg Brown each will be the designated recruiter for parts of Alabama, Georgia and/or Florida.
Lindsey, who replaced Rhett Lashlee as offensive coordinator, inherits much of his predecessor’s former recruiting grounds. Lindsey will recruit east-central Alabama and southwest Georgia. He also will recruit nationally.
Porter, the Tigers’ new tight ends coach, will head recruiting efforts in Dekalb County, Ga., and Miami, Fla. Porter is a two-time Rivals.com National Recruiter of the Year and should give Auburn a stronger presence in both of the talent-rich areas.
Brown, who takes over for Wesley McGriff as defensive backs coach, will recruit central Florida, including the cities of Orlando and West Palm Beach. Brown also will recruit west-central Alabama for Auburn.
