Auburn has added another top offensive line recruit to its 2017 recruiting class.

Nick Brahms, a four-star lineman from Navarre, Fla., announced his commitment to the Tigers Saturday at The Opening in Oregon.

“Auburn is close to home and it just feels right for me,” Brahms said. “It's the perfect fit. I like everything about Auburn."

Brahms chose Auburn after narrowing his list to include North Carolina, Tennessee and Miami.

"I love the people on campus and the players are really cool," Brahms said. "I relate well with the players. Nobody there has a big ego. I'm comfortable there and it already feels like home."

Brahms visited Auburn on three different occasions during the spring and early summer, including his latest trip in mid-June. He visited specifically to learn more about the aviation program, a rare major that Auburn offers.

“That was big for me,” Brahms said. “That really impressed me when I went there and learned about it. I think that's my new major. I really like it."

Brahms has developed a strong relationship with Auburn’s first-year offensive line coach, Herb Hand. The coach is another big reason Brahms is headed to Auburn.

“Coach Hand is a great coach,” Brahms said. “He’s a great guy. I always enjoy seeing him and talking with him. He's a family man and someone that I look forward to learning and playing under."

Brahms, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 280 pounds, is ranked the No. 30 offensive tackle in the 2017 class, but projects to play guard or center at Auburn

"They see me as a guard or center, either one," Brahms said. "I could also fill in at tackle if they really need me."

Brahms is the third offensive lineman to commit to the Tigers in the 2017 class, joining five-star offensive tackle recruit Calvin Ashley and Rivals250 four-star tackle recruit Austin Troxell. Hand said in February he plans to sign five offensive linemen in the class.

Brahms is Auburn’s 1oth overall commitment in the 2017 class, six of whom Rivals ranks a four- or five-star recruit. Bill Taylor, a long snapper from Tuscaloosa, is committed, but likely will count toward the Tigers' 2018 numbers.

“I see a lot of success in the near future with Auburn,” Brahms said. "I'm ready to be a Tiger. War Eagle!"
