Hardman, ranked the No. 3 athlete, visited Auburn last Wednesday and spent the afternoon exclusively with Auburn's third-year coach.
"I got there around 12:30 and me and Coach Malzahn had the whole day to ourselves," Hardman said. "We went to the stadium for a little bit, talked about Auburn and where I see myself playing."
Hardman, 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, was impressed with Malzahn and grateful for the time the coach spent with him.
"Coach Malzahn is cool, a real laid-back dude," Hardman said. "It was nice that he spent that much time with me. Me and him just had a good time. He's one of those coaches that is going to keep it real with you."
Hardman has had in-state Geogia and Tennessee as his top two schools, but now has Auburn in the mix as well.
"They are one of my top schools, up there with Georgia and Tennessee," Hardman said. "They are in my top three. I like it at Auburn and of course could see myself playing there and in that offense."
Hardman doesn't plan on making an early decision. He'll take more visits before deciding on a college, including a return trip to Auburn soon.
"I'm going back sometime in mid-July," Hardman said.
Rivals.com ranks Hardman the No. 37 player in the Rivals100 and No. 3 player from Georgia.
