Auburn made the cut for one of the country's top cornerbacks.
Whitehaven four-star Donte' Vaughn released on Sunday a list of his top eight schools that includes Auburn, six other SEC schools and Notre Dame.
Auburn and the Irish are joined on Vaughn's list by Tennessee, Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Missouri. Vaughn, from Memphis, Tenn., released the list on his Twitter account.
"I'm still open to all schools that haven't offered," the tweet read. "But for now this is my Top 8."
Vaughn has visited Auburn several times, the most recent being in April. He plans to return this month and also take visits to Notre Dame (July 18) and Texas A&M (July 31).
Vaughn, 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, has been high on Auburn since receiving an offer. Auburn and recruiting coach Tim Horton were the first to offer, and Vaughn hasn't forgotten.
"I have gotten a great vibe from Auburn since the first time I went there," Vaughn said in June. "I have a great relationship with (Horton). He's a really good guy. He always keeps in touch with me and my family."
Vaughn plans to take five official visits during the season before making a commitment.
Rivals.com ranks Vaughn the No. 18 cornerback, No. 250 overall recruit and No. 5 player from Tennessee.
