AUBURN | Auburn plans to sign a junior college offensive lineman in the 2017 class, and is in good position with one of its top targets after the weekend.

Jordan Agasiva, a sophomore at Pima Community College in Tuscon, Ariz., was in Auburn on an official visit and left with the Tigers No. 1 on his list.

“I really love it,” Agasiva said. “I really like how they present themselves and what they do. It’s all family here. I really loved the trip.”

Agasiva arrived Friday afternoon and spent two nights on Auburn’s campus. He was inside Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday night for the Tigers’ dramatic 18-13 win over LSU.

“It was crazy,” Agasiva said. “I think it was the craziest game I have been to so far. I have never been to the SEC or been down South ever. It’s really crazy. I love the atmosphere down here.”

Agasiva met with the Auburn coaches throughout the weekend, particularly offensive line coach Herb Hand and coach Gus Malzahn.

“They are really good guys,” Agasiva said. “They are really good coaches and I love them as people. They are family-oriented. They showed me love.”

Agasiva, who is listed at 6-foot-6 and 340 pounds, projects to play guard at Auburn.

“They want me to play right guard for them,” Agasiva said. “They said (starting right guard Braden Smith) might go to tackle and they want me at guard. It would be the best combination.”

Agasiva will visit TCU on Friday and is considering visits to Oregon State and Utah. He plans to take all five official visits before making a decision, but Auburn could be tough to beat.

“I really love it here in Auburn,” Agasiva said. “I like the atmosphere. I like everybody here. They’re all friendly. The atmosphere is crazy and the fans are really friendly. The players made it good, too. They treated me like family and showed me love (Saturday) night after the win.

“It’s really like a family and that’s what I love about it. I just love it here at Auburn.”

Agasiva, who is from Honolulu, Hawaii, said distance would not factor into his decision.

“Not at all,” he said.

Agasiva is on pace to graduate from Pima in December and enroll at a four-year school in January. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
