AUBURN | Cedar Grove defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson's official visit to Auburn over the weekend was more for his mother. It was the Tigers' chance to make one final impression.
They did.
"She enjoyed the whole visit," Jackson said. "She said it was one of the best. She really liked it."
Jackson, his mother, aunt and sisters all arrived in Auburn on Friday.
"It went great," Jackson said. "Just being around the Auburn family was awesome."
Jackson's recruitment is coming to an end soon. The Rivals250 four-star from Ellenwood, Ga. is set to announce his commitment on Thursday. Auburn has been at or near the top of his list of favorites since early in the process.
The Tigers remain at or near the top nearing the end, even without a defensive coordinator.
"That's not really going to factor into my decision," Jackson said. "Coach (Gus) Malzahn told me he was going to find the right fit for Auburn and that I'd be one of the first to find out when he did."
Jackson expects to play host to coaches from Ohio State on Sunday, the final day before the dead period begins. His decision will be announced four days later at Cedar Grove High School. Jackson is set to make his commitment at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Rivals ranks Jackson the No. 10 defensive tackle and No. 108 overall player in the 2016 class.
