AUBURN | Joseph Foucha, one of the top safeties in the 2018 class, visited Auburn on Saturday.

It was Foucha’s first visit to Auburn.

“It went really well,” Foucha said. “I saw everything that I wanted to see with it being my first time, and it was great.”

Foucha, from McDonogh 35 in New Orleans, La., spent most of his time meeting with defensive backs coach Greg Brown.

“Our relationship is going good,” Foucha said. “He came to our practice Monday, so I was excited about coming here and speaking with him and seeing everything.”

Foucha already plans to return. He hasn’t set a date, but is eyeing the first weekend in June.

“I’m looking forward to coming back,” he said. “I don’t have anything planned now, but they do have Big Cat on June 3 so I might try and make it back for that.”

Foucha will release a list of 12 schools on May 17. Auburn, after Saturday, will make the cut.

“I like Auburn a lot,” Foucha said. “I didn’t know too much about it, but with me getting to come up and see, Auburn is an amazing place. The campus, everything is real close together, it’s not spread out, and I would feel comfortable here.

“Auburn is in my top group and I’m looking forward to coming back before the season.”

Rivals ranks Foucha, who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 190 pounds, the No. 37 safety in the class and No. 17 player from Louisiana.
