Allen and his high school basketball teammates are scheduled to leave their homes in River Ridge, La. at noon and arrive in Auburn around 6 p.m. The group will participate in Bruce Pearl's basketball Team Camp, which will be held on Friday and Saturday.
"I'm really looking forward to getting back to Auburn," Allen said. "I'm going to enjoy my visit."
And not just on the hardwood. Allen, 6-foot-6 and 300 pounds, plans to get as much out of the two-night visit as possible. That includes quality time with the football coaches and players.
"I'm going to hang out with Coach (Gus) Malzahn," Allen said. "He's going to watch me play. I'm also going to spend time with (tackle) Shon Coleman and (guard/tackle) Braden Smith and a few other guys.
"We've got six games and it will be fun, but I also am going to see a lot of stuff off the court, too."
Allen and John Curtis open play Friday morning against Peachtree Ridge (Suwanee, Ga.), which features power forward/Tennessee commit Romello White. In all, 85 teams are expected at the camp, which is being directed by Chad Prewett, special assistant to Pearl.
Also expected to participate in camp are Pebblebrook (Mableton, Ga.) three-star point guard/Auburn commitment Jared Harper, Sandy Creek (Tyrone, Ga.) 2017 three-star guard/top Auburn target Elias Harden and Eufaula 2018 top guard prospect/Auburn target Tony Johnson.
Rivals.com ranks Allen the No. 5 player from Louisiana and No. 67 in the country.
