Jerome Carvin hasn’t seen enough of Auburn.

The four-star offensive tackle from Cordova, Tenn. visited Auburn in April for the A-Day game, and plans to return in June for the Tigers’ Big Cat event.

“I like it at Auburn,” Carvin said. “I liked my first visit and I’m looking forward to going back for my second.”

Carvin returning for his second visit has a lot to do with how much he enjoyed his first visit.

“When I went for the spring game, it surpassed all of my expectations,” Carvin said. “I really enjoyed it. I got to meet with Coach (Gus) Malzahn. As soon as he saw me, he took me into his office and told me that I am a high priority for them. That felt really good.”

Carvin also spoke with offensive line coach Herb Hand and area recruiter Tim Horton. He’s developed relationships with the two coaches. Hand watched Carvin in action on Saturday as Cordova played Hewitt-Trussville in a spring jamboree at Jacksonville State.

“I talk with Coach Hand just about every day,” Carvin said. “He’s a great coach and knows what he’s doing. He’s also a great man, not only a great coach, but a great man. Coach Horton is the same. He came and saw me last week during spring ball.”

Carvin’s interest in Auburn could result in a third visit, an official visit in the fall. He doesn’t list any top schools, but expects Auburn to be one of them when he does.

“I’m definitely interested in Auburn,” Carvin said. “I like everything at Auburn, especially the coaches. I’m going to narrow my list soon, maybe after spring ball ends, and Auburn will be there.”

Carvin said he could announce his commitment before the start of his senior season, but still would take all five official visits.

Rivals ranks Carvin, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 305 pounds, the No. 23 tackle in the 2018 class and No. 11 overall player in Tennessee.
