AUBURN | Cedar Grove (Ellenwood, Ga.) was one of 37 high schools to compete Saturday in Auburn's 7-on-7 Tournament, and senior four-star Elysee Mbem-BosseClick [rl]Here to view this Link. was one of the best linebackers.
Mbem-Bosse, 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, finished the day with an interception and two pass break-ups.
"We did good," Mbem-Bosse said. "We could have done better, but we made a couple of mistakes that cost us."
Westside, from Anderson, S.C., won the tournament with an overtime win over Colquitt County (Ga.). After Cedar Grove's tournament ended, Mbem-Bosse and teammate/fellow Auburn target Antwuan Jackson spent time with the Tigers' coaches.
"It went great," Mbem-Bosse said. "Antwuan had a great time, too. I talked to (Will) Muschamp and he told me they were losing three linebackers and they would need someone to come in and play."
Mbem-Bosse, a member of the Rivals250, is considering taking Muschamp up on the offer.
"I have very high interest in them," Mbem-Bosse said. "I like their environment. I really like the coaches. It's a very outstanding program."
Mbem-Bosse plans to return to Auburn for a visit in July. He's also considering Notre Dame, USC, Wake Forest, N.C. State and LSU, and doesn't plan to make a commitment until after the season starts.
"After I'm done taking most of my visits, probably in the middle of fall," he said.
Rivals.com ranks Mbem-Bosse the No. 7 inside linebacker in the 2016 class.
