Whitehaven (Memphis, Tenn.) Rivals250 cornerback Donte' Vaughn visited Auburn in April and would like to return before the end of June.
He's at least trying.
"I'm hoping to get down there either Friday (June 26) or Saturday (June 27)," Vaughn said. "But we haven't gotten everything set. We are trying to get it planned and I hope we can get everything finalized soon."
Vaughn, 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, would make the trip with his father and trainer. It would be the first of three visits he plans to take before August. A trip to Notre Dame is set for July 18, followed by a visit to Texas A&M on July 31.
"I hope we can get to Auburn this weekend," Vaughn said. "I haven't put one school over the others, but Auburn is in my top six. They were my first offer and I have gotten a great vibe from Auburn since the first time I went there."
Vaughn also has gotten a good vibe from the Auburn coaches, particularly area recruiter/running backs coach Tim Horton.
"I talked to Coach Horton last week," Vaughn Said. "I have a great relationship with him. He's a really good guy. He always keeps in touch with me and my family."
Auburn is joined in Vaughn's top six by Texas A&M, LSU, Tennessee, Notre Dame and Michigan. He doesn't plan to choose one until after the season.
"I am going to take all of my official visits during the season and then make my commitment," Vaughn said.
Rivals.com ranks Vaughn the No. 18 cornerback, No. 250 overall recruit and No. 5 from Tennessee.
