Lee held out of Monday's practice
Zac Lee did not practice on Monday, and according to head coach Bo Pelini it had nothing to do with the splint around his left non-throwing thumb.Nebraska quarterback
Pelini said Lee was held out of Monday's practice because of a medication he took and he's expected to still start for the Huskers on Saturday against Louisiana Lafayette.
"He's fine," Pelini said. "It was just a medication thing. He had some medication, but he'll be fine. He'll be out here tomorrow at practice. There are no issues.
Pelini didn't specify why Lee was wearing a splint on his left thumb, but he said the injury was nothing serious.
"It was a medication deal," Pelini said. "He took some medication and he shouldn't exert himself when he has that medication. He'll be back out tomorrow."
Offensive coordinator Shawn Watson also didn't seem worried about Lee's status, despite the multiple rumors that were circulating on message boards and talk radio shows around Nebraska on Monday.
Watson said Lee obviously took quite a few shots in Saturday's loss at Virginia Tech, but nothing that would keep him out for Saturday's game.
"He was all the way there, he just struggled a little bit," Watson said of Lee's performance on Saturday.
"He struggled. In probably his first big game he tried to create a little bit more than what was out there-maybe look for a little bit more than he needed to. That's a common problem for guys in their first big game."
