Villanova's stay at No. 1 could be short-lived

There is still plenty of recruiting activity left in the spring for the 2009 class. But with the release of the final 2009 rankings and the splintering of the former No. 1 recruiting class of Memphis, it is time to reshuffle the top 25 classes.
In a tight, four-team race for the top spot, Villanova comes out on top. The diverse class with three top-30 prospects, including top-10 big man Mouphtaou Yarou, high-level floor general Maalik Wayns and dead-eye shooter Dominic Cheek, just couldn't be beat.
Texas came close with its two elite wing players Avery Bradley and Jordan Hamilton. Georgia Tech has five prospects, led by elite post man Derrick Favors, who could play on the court at the same time. And North Carolina has four four-star prospects to go along with top-five prospect John Henson.
Lurking at No. 5, however, is Kentucky, who is now led by recruiting wizard John Calipari. The Wildcats are in the hunt for No. 1-ranked prospect John Wall and top-10 prospect Xavier Henry. If Kentucky lands just one of these prospects, they will jump straight to the top of this list.
