Record-setting Meeks named Player of the Week

How good has Jodie Meeks' season been? His 22 points on the road against Georgia on Sunday lowered his scoring average.

Despite leading Kentucky to a 68-45 rout, his game was pedestrian by his standards. That's what a record-setting, 54-point effort will do. Meeks turned in one of the finest performances of the season Tuesday in a 90-72 win over Tennessee, breaking the Wildcats' single-game scoring record.

For his efforts, Meeks is Rivals.com's National Player of the Week.

"I have never seen anything like it," Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie said of Meeks' effort against the Volunteers.

Meeks was 15-of-22 from the field, including 10-of-15 from 3-point range. He also made all 14 of his free-throw attempts against the Vols.
