SOUTHERN MISS GOLDEN EAGLE FOOTBALL GAME NOTES VS UCF November 8, 2008

* Team Captains for today's game were Shawn Nelson (1), Eddie Hicks, (18) Jeremy Snowden (38) and Ryan McKee (66)

* Senior Ryan McKee started his 37th consecutive game on the offensive line

* Junior Damion Fletcher misses only the second game of his career and his first since Virginia Tech in 2006

* Southern Miss took a 7-6 lead at the half, the fourth time this season that the Golden Eagles have led at the half, they are 4-0 in those games

* Southern Miss converted a fourth down on the first drive of the game and another in the fourth quarter making them 15 of 22 this season on fourth downs

* Cordarro Law recorded his third sack of the season early in the second quarter for a loss of three yards

* Eddie Hicks picked off his third pass of the season and seventh of his career in the second quarter

* Freshman DeAndre Brown Caught his 11th touchdown pass of the season with just over three minutes left in second quarter

* Freshman Austin Davis threw his 17th touchdown pass of the season adding to his freshman record for TD's thrown in a season

* Senior Chris Rhoden caught an eight yard pass in the second quarter, his first reception of the season and fourth of his six year career. He finished the game with two receptions for 12 yards

* Davis rushed for his ninth TD of the season in the third quarter leading an 17 play-85 yard drive that took 8:57, the second longest drive of the season in terms of time and plays

* Britt Barefoot converted a 29 yard field goal in the fourth quarter, his first field goal since the second quarter of the Memphis game.

* Andre Watson intercepted his third pass of the season in the fourth quarter

* Southern Miss had 89 offensive plays in this game which is the most this season

* Southern Miss has a season high in time of possession with 41:56

* The Golden Eagles held the UCF offense to 64 rushing yards which is the lowest for an opponent this season
