Saddler set to reveal college decision
It's a big day for the Virginia football program, as one of the top targets on its board will reveal his college destination.
Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway athlete Cameron Saddler will announce his college choice at a press conference this evening at 6 p.m., and CavsCorner will have live coverage of the event.
In addition to UVa, West Virginia and Pittsburgh are the other finalists vying for the services of the 5-foot-6, 170-pound dynamo.
Saddler, who is rated by Rivals.com as a four-star prospect, has taken official visits to each of his finalists in recent weeks, and heading into decision day speculation is running rampant about which school Saddler will choose.
"I am excited about wrapping up my recruitment," said Saddler. "It has been a great experience for me but I am ready to move on to the next step in my life."
The Cavaliers have long considered Saddler one of the most important players in their 2008 recruiting class, and the talented athlete has developed a strong relationship with UVa head coach Al Groh during his recruitment.
Saddler visited Virginia in early November for the Wake Forest game and left impressed with UVa's program.
But in the last two weeks, visits to Pittsburgh and West Virginia have followed, and Saddler gave both trips high marks, fueling the uncertainty about what will happen tonight.
"I plan to call the two coaches of the schools that I will not be attending right before I make my announcement," Saddler said. "That is going to be tough; I am not going to lie. Once that is done, I can step up and make my announcement and make the call to the coach of the school that I selected."
As mentioned above, leading up to the decision, CavsCorner will have live updates on the Hoos Next message board, as well as full coverage of the press conference and reaction from Saddler about his choice.

Saddler finished his senior season with 1,700 yards rushing and 31 total touchdowns. He also averaged 33 yards on kick-off returns and 25 yards on punt returns.
In addition to being a standout on the field, Saddler also maintains a 4.28 GPA.
