Big 12 Week 2 Recap
Blake Szymanski's 412 passing yards and six touchdown passes established single-game school records in a 42-17 pasting of Rice. He completed 29 of his 46 passes. The Bears built a 21-7 first-quarter lead on three TD passes from Szymanski and cruised from there.
Next: Saturday, vs. Texas State.
The Buffs led 14-0 early, then were shut down the rest of the way in a 33-14 loss to Arizona State. Colorado had just 204 yards of offense, including only 32 on the ground. Starting QB Cody Hawkins had a tough day, going 16-for-43 for 162 yards as the Buffs were forced to throw because of the lack of a rushing attack.
Next: Saturday, vs. Florida State.
Iowa State
New coach Gene Chizik still is seeking his first victory after the Cyclones fell to 0-2 with a 24-13 loss to I-AA Northern Iowa. UNI led 17-6 at halftime. Iowa State committed four turnovers but had 399 yards of total offense.
Next: Saturday, vs. Iowa.
The Jayhawks cruised to their second consecutive lopsided victory, crushing I-AA Southeastern Louisiana 62-0. Kansas rolled up 501 yards and limited the Lions to 75, including minus-36 on the ground. KU has outscored its first two foes 114-7.

The Tigers put up big offensive numbers for the second week in a row, downing Ole Miss 38-25 a week after beating Illinois 40-34. The Tigers had 548 yards of total offense, including 385 from QB Chase Daniel. Daniel threw four TD passes in the second quarter, giving the Tigers a 28-7 halftime lead. But Mizzou allowed 534 yards of offense to the Rebels.

The Huskers struggled to a 20-17 victory at Wake Forest. QB Sam Keller threw for 258 yards, but tossed two interceptions and made some poor decisions. That has to change if the Huskers are to upset USC this week. Nebraska was just 3-for-15 on third-down conversions, and allowed Wake to rush for 236 yards.
Next: Saturday, vs. USC.
The Sooners dominated in all phases in a 51-13 rout of Miami. QB Sam Bradford tied a school record with five TD passes and the defense allowed just 139 yards of offense, including just 87 through the air. Malcolm Kelly caught three touchdown passes.

Oklahoma State
The Cowboys' offense struggled in a Week One loss at Georgia, but rebounded to roll up 488 yards in a 42-6 pounding of Florida Atlantic.
