Wade reigns in Oregon

Just like there was little doubt that Myles Wade, the standout defensive tackle from Portland Benson Tech, was going to commit to Oregon, there was little doubt that the 6-foot-1, 316-pounder would take home top honors in the Rivals.com Oregon top 10.

Wade, who recently committed to the Ducks over offers from Colorado, Houston, Oregon State and Portland State, was the clear-cut No. 1 in Oregon for the class of 2007. At both the Palo Alto and Eugene NIKE Training Camps, Wade dominated and was one of the most impressive interior linemen at any of the events.

On tape, he also excels, showing how he racked up 40 tackles, eight sacks and two fumble recoveries as a junior.

"Myles' athleticism is what sets him apart," his coach, Doug Bilodeau, said.

Behind Wade is Portland Central Catholic strongside defensive end Kevin Frahm.

The 6-foot-2, 244-pounder is already committed to Oregon State and several college coaches made a case for him to be ranked as the No. 1 player in the state. He definitely did impress at the Palo Alto NIKE Camp with a dominating performances in drills.

Either way, Frahm is heading to Oregon State and the Beavers got themselves a good one here. Frahm turned down an offer from BYU to commit to OSU.

Moving up the charts to challenge Frahm and Wade at the top is Eugene Marist running back Brandon Jackson.

Buoyed by a strong showing at the NIKE Camp and a great turnout at several summer camps, Jackson picked major offers from Boston College, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State and Boise State. Cal and Oregon lead the way for him now and as he gets stronger and faster, he becomes an even more elite college prospect.

Tight end Carl Sommer is the No. 4 player in Oregon. He once was considered one of the biggest sleepers in the Pacific Northwest, but the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder committed to Oregon State and should be a talented player for them.
