Tigers top the Louisiana Top 30 list

The state of Louisiana is always one of the top states for producing Division I prospects. While the Bayou State is considered to be down this year in overall terms of talent, the names at the top of The Rivals.com Louisiana Top 30 are still awfully impressive.

At the head of the list is no surprise as Reserve (La.) East St. Johns quarterback Ryan Perrilloux. He is considered the nation's top quarterback and is the No. 9 overall prospect by Rivals.com. He has garnered over 75 scholarship offers and is committed to the University of Texas.

"There is no doubt about it - he's the best quarterback in America because he can throw off the back leg, he can throw off the front leg, and he can throw going to his right or to his left," East St. John coach Larry Dauterieve said.

LSU continues to flex its recruiting muscle in-state as they have already picked up commitments from the rest of the top five.

New Orleans St. Augustine defensive end Al Jones comes in at No. 2 on the list while Baton Rouge (La.) Parkview Baptist linebacker Darry Beckwith{/db] holds down the No. 3 spot.

A pair of running backs round out the rest of the top five as Mandeville (La.) Fountainebleau fullback Steven Korte comes in at No.4 and Winnfield speedster Antonio Robinson finishes the top five.

Breaking the streak of Tiger commitments is New Orleans (La.) Abramson linebacker/defensive end Alonzo Horton, who registers in at No.6.

The Tigers continue to dominate the state as they have commitments from players No. 7 and No. 8. Baton Rouge (La.) Parkview Baptist defensive tackle Lyle Hitt is at No.7 while Walker defensive back Chris Hawkins comes in at No. 8.

Michigan commitment Mamou wide receiver Laterryal Savoy is at No. 9 while Alexandria jumbo-athlete Nick Harris rounds out the top 10.

Bastrop linebacker Rogers Loche, who is an Ole Miss commit is at No. 18 on the list, while Shreveport (La.) Evangel athlete Billy Barefield finishes up the list at No. 30.
