Major event coverage kicks-off on Friday

The Las Vegas Spring Showcase and Pump 'N Run summer basketball tournaments are scheduled for tip-off Friday afternoon in Las Vegas, Nevada. Several of the nation's top basketball prospects are expected to be attendance in order to showcase their skills.

Las Vegas Spring Showcase

Games for the Las Vegas Spring Showcase, hosted by Hal Pastner, will begin pool play at 6:30 (PST) featuring four sets of games that includes 32 teams. But Saturday will be the highlight with 60 games taking place between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The championship rounds begin Saturday night at 8:50 p.m. with Sunday's elimination games beginning at 8 a.m. The Gold Medal game to determine the winner will be at Durango High School at 5:20 p.m. Durango also serves as the tournament headquarters.

Houston Hoops- Rashad Woods, Jeremy Barr, Nic Wise (Arizona) and Fendi Onobun (Arizona)

Team Texas Elite- Calvin Miles, Terrel Harris, Kevin Rogers and Keith Davis

Southern Cal All-Stars- Brian Harvey, Chase Budinger, Taylor King (UCLA), Marcus Johnson and Jay Dee Luster

California Elite- Davon Jefferson, Mike Gerrity and Matt Shaw

Salt Lake Metro-Brayden Bell, Tyler Newbold and Joe Darger

Belmont Shore- Jamal Boykin

Pump 'N Run Event

The Pump 'N Run event will begin at 4:30 with five sets of games being played at six different courts. In all the opening day will feature 60 teams. Saturday will begin the pool play and the action heats up with every game seeing the winner move on to contend for the overall championship. Beginning at 9 a.m. 66 games will be played.

To win the tournament you have to stay unbeaten making every game crucial. On Sunday the action picks-up again at 9 a.m. with the champion being crowned after the 4 p.m game at Basic High School.

Charlie Weber Capital Invitational

If our coverage from Las Vegas weren't enough, our Justin Young is in Washington D.C. for the Capital Invitational. Several of the top teams from the East will battle it out for the crown.

Games start off on Friday night as the 16U groups get right into the action. On Saturday, teams will play two pool games. Then those with the best records in their pool move onto the tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Coaches from the ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12 and many more will be in attendance.
