Former Auburn University and NFL stand-out Reggie Torbor has been named the new head football coach at Restoration Academy, an AISA school in Fairfield, Alabama.

Torbor replaces DeWayne Coker, who will focus completely on being the Athletic Director and Dean of Students.

Torbor is the co-founder of the First and Five Foundation, a mentoring program for teen girls and boys. After a successful college career, Torbor was drafted by the New York Giants in 2004. Torbor won the 2008 Super Bowl as a member of the Giants, and has played for the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills. Torbor is married to his wife Michelle, and they have to sons.

"I'm excited to be the head football coach at Restoration Academy," Torbor said. "It will give me the opportunity to disciple and fellowship with young people. I benefited greatly from the influence of mentors growing up and I hope to do the same for the next generation of students."

Torbor hails from Baton Rouge, La., where he rushed for over 2,700 yards during his junior and senior seasons, scoring 24 touchdowns. Torbor also had 18 career sacks.

Torbor played four years at Auburn, where he earned Second Team All-SEC honors in 2003. He finished his collegiate career with 46 games played (22 starts), 120 tackles, 32 tackles for a loss, 19.5 sacks, 10 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and a blocked kick.

Restoration Academy is a private, Christian, donor-based school located in Fairfield. Celebrating its 25th year, the school is a math and reading emphasis school. For the past eight years, 100 percent of the school's graduates have been accepted to college.
