Dion Jordan talks progress
The Oregon Ducks should be loaded on the defensive line in 2012, and one of the big reasons will be Chandler, Arizona standout Dion Jordan.
Following his first team All-Pac-12 performance as a junior, Jordan has been the recipient of numerous preseason honors, including watch lists for Bronko Nagurski Trophy (defense), Bednarik Award (defense), Rotary Lombardi Award (lineman), and Ted Hendricks Award (defensive end).
Duck Sports Authority caught up with the towering defensive drop end to get an update on fall camp progress.
On his physical overall health early in camp
"I'm feeling good. I'm getting back into the swing of things of practices. It's fast paced as usual but everybody is starting to understand how we work and starting to buy in."
On the increased muscle he added in the since last year
"One of my main focuses during the off-season was in the weight room. I did as far as taking care of my body. That was the important thing."
On academic progress
"I'm three classes away from getting my degree. It's pretty exciting. I'm very excited about it and during the fall term I'm looking forward to getting that taken care of."
On academic work ethic
"Just a lot of hard work. Balancing school and college football is very tough but you got to do it. That's why I came to this University; to get my degree first then be the best that I can out there on the football field."
