FSU picks up 2014 athlete from Miami
With Florida State's 2013 recruiting class rapidly filling up, the Seminoles have also gotten a start on their 2014 class.
Miami Northwestern athlete JoJo Robinson became the third commitment of the 2014 class when he pulled the commitment trigger on Thursday afternoon, despite not being at the Jimbo Fisher camp in Tallahassee.
"It's close to home, I love their coaches and their program," Robinson wrote in a text message to Warchant.com. " The atmosphere of the program is exiting and is very family like. I like the facilities and just the whole tradition of the school."
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound athlete said he has a close relationship with his main recruiter and FSU running backs coach Eddie Gran who recruits the south Florida area for FSU. Robinson said Gran and head coach Jimbo Fisher were very pleased when he told them he was committed.
"Coach Gran was very excited, along with Jimbo Fisher," Robinson said. "They were proud to welcome me to the Seminole family."
Robinson plays running back, receiver, quarterback and occasionally safety as well as returning kicks for Northwestern. He said he expects to play slot receiver at the next level.
Despite pledging to FSU, Robinson said he doubts other schools will back off.
"I still expect some schools to stay on me although I'm committed," said Robinson who also holds offers from Miami and LSU among several others.
