Buh extends West Coast offer
Andy Buh has recruiting connections to the state of California, having spent time at Stanford, Fresno State and San Diego State during his coaching tenure.Newly-hired linebackers coach
And while Wisconsin hasn't traditionally recruited the West Coast all that hard since Bret Bielema has been the head coach, it appears as though Buh will get an opportunity to pursue prospects in familiar territory.
Last week, Buh extended an offer to Francis Owusu, a junior wide receiver from Westlake Village (CA) Oaks Christian.
"I've been calling Wisconsin's coaches a lot and building a good relationship with them," Owusu told BadgerBlitz.com. "They have been really good to me and coach Andy Buh extended me an offer last week."
UW is the third school to offer the 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect.
"The three schools that have offered right now are Wisconsin, Stanford and Vanderbilt," he said. "USC, I'll be going to their junior day this Sunday and I've been getting mail from Tennessee and UCLA."
Having played in back-to-back Rose Bowls, UW's program is becoming more relevant in the state of California, evidenced by Bart Houston's commitment in the 2012 class.
"I always dreamed of playing Division 1 football," Owusu said. "Wisconsin is a great school and them being in the top 25 every year is really important to me along with their strong academics.
"It seems like a great place to attend school."
