Junior RB/LB looks for attention
Emerson Buckland camped for three days at Boston College this summer and absolutely loved the experience so much so that the Medina, Ohio, running back/linebacker hopes to return next year.
Buckland, a 6-foot, 200-pound prospect who also camped at Maine and Mount Union this summer, said everything about his trip to Chestnut Hill was great because of the coaching staff and how they ran the camp and he also enjoyed the East Coast and what the campus looked like.
"I loved the BC camp," Buckland said.
"I'm definitely going to do it again next year. All the coaching was great and the instruction was great. I loved being on campus with everyone and just the whole experience with all the different coaches and all the different players around."
The 2013 prospect is hoping to have a big-time junior season and that might help propel him into next summer and move him up recruiting boards of many schools.
Buckland, who had four solo tackles in Medina's season opener last weekend, is hoping Boston College is one of the programs that continue to keep tabs on him. Playing well this season can only help his chances.
"That's definitely what I'm hoping," Buckland said.
"I really liked the East Coast and I really like the ACC. I just really liked the school and I felt at home when I was there. I liked the coaching staff very much."
In his sophomore season, Buckland finished with 876 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He had 34 tackles and one sack at linebacker. Dartmouth and Maine are two other schools showing very early interest in the Ohio recruit.
