- NCAA interim executive vice president of championships Greg Shaheen, after it was announced that the NCAA and its four television media partners will televise the 2011 Big Dance in its entirety for the first time in the tourney's 73-year history.



Conference play continues at the Creek this week in both men's and women's hoop and four women's hoop athletes were recognized as candidates for the Naismith Trophy.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, it was announced that, for the 2011 Big dance, for first time in history, all games in the men's basketball tournament will be televised live in their entirety among CBS, TNT, TBS and TruTV television channels.





UCLA

In football, former University of South Florida assistant coach Joe Tresey was hired as the defensive coordinator for the Bruins.



WSU

In men's hoop, Wazzu defeated California and lost to Stanford to move to 7-6 in conference play and 17-8 overall with a 70 RPI.

In women's hoop, Wazzu swept the season series from California and lost to Stanford to move to 6-7 in conference play and 8-17 overall with a 122 RPI.

In football, Wazzu made staff changes.

In tennis, Wazzu defeated Kansas to improve to 8-1 overall for the season.



Oregon

In men's hoop, the Ducks beat USC but lost to UCLA to move to 13-12 overall and 6-7 in conference play.



Arizona State

In football, sophomore-to-be running back Deondre Lewis suffered a gunshot wound from an errant bullet fired in a Riverside [California] neighborhood while he was visiting relatives.



Oregon State

In women's hoop, the Beavers were swept by USC and UCLA to fall to 8-16 overall and 1-12 in conference play.



USC

In football, defensive administrative assistant Chris Kiffin was hired at Arkansas State as defensive line coach.



Arizona

In football, assistant coach Duane Akina left Arizona to become the defensive backs coach at Texas.



Washington

In men's hoop, junior point guard Isaiah Thomas was named as the conference's player of the week.



California

In women's hoop, the Bears were swept by Washington and Wazzu to fall to 14-10 overall and 6-7 in conference play.



Stanford

In women's hoop, Stanford swept Washington and WSU to claim the Pac-10 record with their 49th and 50th consecutive conference wins - breaking their own league mark.
