End the streak
There's not a more glaring negative streak in Nebraska basketball right now than its 10-game losing streak in Big 12 Conference road games. The Huskers haven't won away from the Devaney Center in league play since the 2008-09 season finale at Baylor. The good news is that NU has won four straight over Texas Tech under head coach Doc Sadler, including its past two trips to Lubbock, Texas.
Keep attacking 2
One of the biggest highlights of Nebraska's win over Colorado on Tuesday night was the way the Huskers attacked the basket on both ends of the floor. With the emergence of junior guard Toney McCray as a go-to scorer who can take the ball to the hoop, NU needs to continue to go right at defenses and keep up the aggressive play its shown through the first four Big 12 games.
Take care of business
It's hard to call any Big 12 road game a game Nebraska "should" win considering their recent struggles, but just looking at where the two teams are at this point, that's exactly what tonight is. While the Huskers keep getting better in conference play, Texas Tech has only gotten worse over the past four games. After getting thrashed by Kansas State 94-60, the Red Raiders just lost to Big 12 bottom feeder Oklahoma on Tuesday. As long as Nebraska plays the way it's capable of, this should be the game when it puts its league road losing streak to an end.
Senior guard Drake Beranek on Sadler giving his team confidence to win on the road:
"I think he's trying to give us a little confidence to go into a place and maybe steal a win on the road. It's definitely not a matter of over confidence or trying to full our heads up or anything, it's just trying to get us that confidence which is probably something we've been lacking going into road games."
Sadler on how winning games creates confidence:
"The thing is, I think we've got some talent. We've got guys that are working hard. Confidence comes by having some success, and the more success that they have, they're going to start believing the way I believe."
