Stick together

Not only does Nebraska have to bounce back from its first loss since November, it has to do it after junior point guard Kamyron Brown was dismissed from the team on Friday. As if going down to Allen Fieldhouse was a difficult enough task, the Huskers must find a way to put losing their second teammate in less than a month behind them to try and upset the No. 3 Jayhawks.
Defend transition

One of the biggest problems Nebraska had in Wednesday's loss to Missouri was that it gave up way too many points on fast breaks to the Tigers. Going on the road in hostile environments like Columbia, Mo., and Lawrence, Kan., the last thing you want to do if give up easy transition points that get both you opponent and its fans pumped up and on a run. The Huskers have to limit their turnovers and not make anything easy for the Jayhawks if they're going to have any chance at a win.
Don't be intimidated

The numbers in the Nebraska-Kansas series speak for themselves. The Huskers have lost 15 games in a row to KU and haven't won in Lawrence since 1999. Overall, the Jayhawks are a staggering 50-7 at home against Nebraska and are responsible for four of NU's top-10 worst losses in school history. That said, the Huskers can't afford to come into today's game intimidated in the least. Yes, it's very difficult to win at Kansas, but it's crucial that they don't resign the win even before the opening tip.

Junior guard Toney McCray on Nebraska not being intimidated against Big 12's best:

"I think it's just more about believing. Last year, we believed we could win, but sometimes on the road we'd get some match-ups where it was kind like, 'Well, we don't have a chance tonight.' Last night (against Missouri), it seemed like we believed we could win, and no matter what the score was we just kept fighting and fighting, and the whole game we thought we could win. We felt we were just right there."
Head coach Doc Sadler on his team playing with confidence:

"As I told the team, I think this is the first year since I've been here that every time we get on the court we should have the mindset that we don't have to play like a Superman to win. The deck is stacked against us. I mean, not a lot of people go to Missouri and then go to Kansas. We were the ones who went to Missouri and didn't get it done. We've got to go over there (to Kansas) and play a very, very good basketball team at home, but I'm confident we're going to do that."

Kansas 82-71
