The Starting Five

The Starting Five makes its return to PowerMizzou.com. Each Tuesday throughout the season, we will rank the five Tigers who had the best performances over the past week. A player's ranking one week has no bearing on his placement on the list the next week. This is our list of the five Tigers who had, in our opinion, the best week in the Tigers' split games against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Georgetown and Oregon:

The Starting Five
1 Marcus Denmon, G This is a no-brainer. Denmon averaged 19.3 points over three wins, including a career-high 27 in the loss to Georgetown. N/A
2 Ricardo Ratliffe, F Ratliffe has become a reliable inside presence for the Tigers. He garnered Big 12 rookie of the week honors again after averaging 14.3 points and 6.7 boards in three games. N/A
3 Mike Dixon Jr., G Dixon did have a couple of key mistakes down the stretch against Georgetown, but was a major reason the Tigers were even in the game. Dixon averaged 13 points, four assists and three steals with just five total turnovers last week. N/A
4 Matt Pressey, G Pressey has been one of the early season surprises, establishing himself as Missouri's sixth man at worst. He chipped in nine points and two assists per game and has been solid defensively. N/A
5 Laurence Bowers, F Bowers is yet to have a true breakout game, though he did average 11.7 points in three games. His eight total boards in three games have to improve and he must cut down on the five turnovers he had against Oregon. As the competition increases, Bowers' spot on this list will need to move higher. N/A
