CINCINNATI - It was a big day at Anderson High School for offensive lineman Andrew Norwell. The road grader on the offensive line was presented with his U.S. Army All-American jersey, and for Norwell it was a day that showed how all of his hard work has paid off.

For any prep football player, being named to the U.S. Army All-American game is one of the highest individual honors that they can receive. Norwell expressed his appreciation after being presented with the Army All-American jersey on Monday.

"It is a big honor for me," said Norwell. "I am just real honored to be named to the game."

The Ohio State commitment is seen as one of the nation's best players at offensive tackle, and he feels it was his physical nature of playing that led to the selection.

"I think they liked the way I play and how I look on film," he said. "I always play to the whistle and try to be real aggressive on the field."

One thing that does make this a little bittersweet for Norwell is that he suffered a leg injury during the season, and now he is not going to be able to participate in the game. Even though the injury won't allow him to compete in the game, Norwell said it doesn't take anything away from the recognition.

"It hurts a little bit to know that I am not going to be able to play in the game, but still it is a great honor to be named to the game," said Norwell.

Despite not being able to participate in the game, Norwell is looking forward to making the trip and maybe learning a few new techniques that he can take with him.

"I think it is going to be a real fun experience even though I won't be able to play," he said. "Hopefully I can learn some new tricks that I can add to my game."

As a committed player Norwell is looking forward to spending time with some of his future teammates at Ohio State, as well as some potential future Buckeyes.

"It is going to be a lot of fun to get to know some of those guys and spend time with them," said Norwell. "That is something that I am really looking forward to."
