Cox pulls in another weekly award

The honors keep coming for quarterback Joe Cox following his performance in Saturday's 52-41 victory over Arkansas.

One day after winning the Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Week award, Cox was named the SEC offensive Player of the Week Monday morning.

The fifth-year senior completed 18 of 26 passes with a school-record tying five touchdowns in Georgia's 52-41 victory at Arkansas.

"We were having a tough time stopping them and we knew as an offense we had to put points on the board," Cox said. "Fortunately, we countered everything they did. I think we did a good job."

His 44-yard touchdown pass to Orson Charles have the Bulldogs the lead for good at 42-35 late in the third quarter. Every one of his 18 completions went for a first down.

His five touchdown passes tied the school mark set by Matthew Stafford (vs. Georgia Tech, 2008), D.J. Shockley (vs. Boise State, 2005) and David Greene (vs. LSU, 2004).
