Williams lands Duck offer
The Oregon Ducks continue to find recruits everywhere, and this includes the land of oil derricks, ten gallon hats, and football. Running back Dontae Williams has caught the eye of the Ducks.
Williams took some time out of his busy summer camp schedule to talk about recruiting and Oregon football. "I'm at the LSU Camp at this time. We are having a good time. I have also been to the USC, Texas and Baylor Camps," Williams reported
"Coach Campbell of the Ducks has been recruiting me. I have a mentor, Charles Cheveliar who is guiding me. He has told me to take a real hard look at the Oregon program. I have never been there, but I have heard you just have to see the campus and what they have available up there. Their uniforms and facilities are really something. I really hope one of my official visits is to Oregon. I recently talked to Coach Kelly for the first time. He personally offered me the scholarship," Williams said.
Williams went on to tell Duck Sports Authority how he feels about the Ducks. "I really, really, really like the program. They run the spread. Darron Thomas is a friend of mine from high school. I haven't talked to him recently, but awhile ago we spoke on the phone for about an hour and half. He told me about the program and how good it is. I plan on calling him back soon. Darron really got my attention about Oregon."
Williams has no shortage of places to choose from to go to school. "I have written offers from Oregon, Cal, Oregon State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Ohio, UTEP, Purdue, Arkansas, Iowa, and a few others," Williams said.
Williams does not have a top group yet. "No I don't at this time. I plan on taking all my five official trips. I want to enjoy the recruiting process. I plan on deciding after the season. I hope to make Oregon one of them. I don't know whether it will be during the season or after the season."
