Uko back from Eugene
Oregon needs young, great, defensive linemen in the class of 2010. It's a priority and the Ducks have made no real secret about it. Last week they hosted probably their top target at the defensive tackle spot, George Uko.
Uko made the trip with his dad, his friend and Don Lugo high teammate Steven Bethley and Bethley's father as well.
"It was real nice. Well, it was actually kind of amazing up there. I know it's the first college that I've seen but everything about it was just, really amazing."
Uko got a chance to see the Autzen at its quietest. "We went down to the field, stood on the fifty yard line, went up to the press box too, saw all the facilities and got to spend some time with the coaches."
But it wasn't all a tour of Autzen, Uko worked out as well and spent considerable time with Oregon defensive line coach Jerry Azzinaro. "It was nice to work with Coach Azz and see how he is. He 's pretty fired up. He coaches out loud basically. He gets pretty excited and it's great to play for someone like that. They had us do some stuff on both sides of the ball. So I started on offense and ran some stuff from my tight end spot, caught some balls and did some things there. Then we switched and I moved over to defensive line and did some line stuff, then some position specific stuff and then we did one on ones."
