Henry would love to see sons at KU
The story of Xavier and C.J. Henry is one that all Kansas fans know all too well by now. Their father, Carl Henry, mother, Barbara Adkins and aunt, Vicky, all played basketball at Kansas. Older brother C.J. committed to the Jayhawks during his senior year, but was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 2005 MLB draft. After minor league stints with NY and Philadelphia, C.J. decided to give basketball a try, but instead of playing for Kansas, opted for Memphis. Several months later, Xavier signed a Letter-of-Intent with the Tigers.
Now, as the late singing period approaches, both brothers have a difficult decision to make. Xavier and C.J., who have been released from Memphis, still have the option to remain with the Tigers and play for Josh Pastner. They could also transfer to Kentucky and play for John Calipari. Lastly, Xavier and C.J. can stick with their original plan, which means both would end up at Kansas. Carl Henry spoke to Jayhawk Slant about his playing days in Lawrence, what it would mean to have both sons follow in the family footsteps and what type of player his older son, C.J., is at this stage.
