Spring Report - DB and Kickers

UCLA's defensive backs are talented, but outside of Alterraun Verner, those who are expected to be major playmakers this fall are very young. Verner is the anchor of this young, but talented group. It is hard to believe that Verner who made such a splash as a freshman is now a senior. He had two picks for a six as a freshman and rarely gets picked on.

That is why one of the keys to a successful spring camp will be developing another reliable corner and according to the depth chart, it appears they hope Aaron Hester develops into that player. There aren't many who possess the size and speed of Hester. Also going for him is his long arms to go with his size. If Hester lives up to his billing, the Bruins will have two lockdown corners and that will enhance what a defense can do. Hester is definitely a player to track this spring.

Other corners who will be getting looks will be sophomore Courtney Viney, walk on redshirt freshmen Andrew Abbott, Lowell Rose, Jeff Dickman and walk on sophomore Terry O'Neal.
