Auburn's spring practice set to open

Head coach Gene Chizik and his new coaching staff will take to the practice field for the first time Tuesday night for the beginning of spring drills. Competition is expected to be keen as the new staff opens up starting jobs at every position.

Offense

On offense it's starts at the quarterback position where offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn will begin spring giving equal reps to four quarterbacks. Malzahn is hoping to narrow down the competition after the first week or two and to have a starter coming out of spring.

Junior Kodi Burns and senior Chris Todd have the most experience while junior Neil Caudle and redshirt freshman Barrett Trotter will try to impress the new staff.
