Taylor, KU set to battle Texas

On Friday afternoon, Tyshawn Taylor appeared from the locker room with a look of seriousness on his face. No smile, let alone a smirk, on the face of the 6-foot-3, 180-pound freshman guard from Jersey City, N.J. Taylor briefly talked about his injured toe and Saturday's upcoming game against Texas, before heading to practice. Jayhawk Slant was on hand and spoke to Taylor, and a number of other players, including Sherron Collins.

Shortly after talking about his injured toe, the conversation quickly turned to Saturday's game against Texas. On Wednesday, the Jayhawks faced one of the top shooters in the league. In losing to Texas Tech, 84-65, Alan Voskuil lit up KU for a career-high 35-points and, in doing so, connected on 9-of-14 shots from behind the arc.
