Virges names an early leader

Up until now, one of the Magnolia State's top linemen has kept his top school under wraps.

But after visiting Mississippi State over the weekend, West Point's Curtis Virges now has a favorite. The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder has the Bulldogs at the top of his list following his trip to junior day.

"I got some great insight on things going on at Mississippi State that I really like," Virges said. "This weekend really helped a lot. Right now they are my number one school."

Virges was one of the few selected juniors to receive a scholarship offer on Sept. 1, 2008. He stated that was a huge advantage in favor of MSU.

"They told me that they only have so many scholarships that they give out early to juniors and I was one of them," Virges said. "That made me feel real good."

The Bulldogs remain the only offer Virges has currently but he has also been contacted by Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Stanford and UCLA.
