Sunflower Stunner

Playing in front of sold-out crowd, and the most hostile environment it will likely see in conference play, Kansas (20-5; 9-1) found itself down by 16-points to a Kansas State (17-8; 7-6) squad that could simply do no wrong. Denis Clemente ignited the Wildcats early and, at the time, the Jayhawks had absolutely no answer. However, a funny thing happened late in the first half. KU slowly chipped away at KSU's double-digit lead and found itself down by just one-point at halftime. The Jayhawks took the lead for good when Marcus Morris stepped to the free-throw line and calmly hit both charity shots. When the final buzzer sounded, Kansas had completed its 16-point comeback by defeating Kansas State, 85-74.

Self and the Jayhawks couldn't have gotten off to a worse started Bramlage Coliseum. Kansas and Kansas State opened up the game by trading baskets, but after the first timeout, the Wildcats absolutely exploded offensively.
