Blazers Land Georgia Running Back
UAB's latest recruiting commitment is a three-star running back from Georgia. What kind of runner is he? "I like to run inside and outside," he said. "I like it all."
Reginald Bryant made his official visit to UAB this weekend and finalized his decision. He was impressed with the UAB's coaches and the city of Birmingham.
"Birmingham is a nice area," he said. "I'm from a small town, and it's always good to see [the big city]."
Bryant is a 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back with 4.6 speed. Rivals.com ranks him as one of the top 60 running backs in the nation. As a junior, he rushed for 1,644 yards and 27 touchdowns.
He plans to come to UAB and immediately compete for playing time. "I'll be competing with my first day," he said. "If I don't have a starting job, I'm going to compete for playing time."
Bryant plans to major in kinesiology. "My cousin is at South Florida studying the same thing," Bryant said. "I want to follow him."
Bryant was recruited to UAB by assistant coach Tyson Summers. Bryant was also recruited by a number of other universities, including Kansas State, Louisville, North Carolina State, and Georgia Southern.
