Darren Collison reluctant superstar

Bruin senior point Darren Collison guard could be called the reluctant superstar. He is very unselfish and definitely puts the team ahead of himself. He quietly leads the team in scoring averaging 15.0 points per game. He leads the team in assists averaging 5.4 assists per game and in foul shooting hitting 97.6 percent from line.

BruinBlitz.com and other members of the media were able to get a few moments with the talented senior point guard.

Can you talk a little about USC?

Collison: "USC is very talented. They can shoot the ball and they can put the ball on the floor. Tim Floyd is a good coach and he has a lot of strategies when he plays against us.

A guy with your type of skill and talent, you are like a reluctant superstar. You go about your business and it appears to you don't care if you get any accolades like a lot of great players need. Is that something that your folks instilled in you?

Collison: "I'm actually afraid of accolades. I really am. That makes a player stop working. As much as he is humble and as much as he is on the grind, it makes a player work harder. I try not to look at all of these things.

"When my career is done and I'm not playing this game, then I may look at it, but as long as I am still in this game, I have a lot more to prove."
