Offers start to percolate

One of the biggest mysteries of this recruiting season was what took so long for three-star defensive tackle Justin Brown (6-2, 256, 4.8) from Compton, Calif., to start garnering offers, but now the time has come as he picked up two good ones on Monday and there could be more in the near future as things are really beginning to heat up for him.

"Justin just received two offers today (Monday January 5th)," Compton head coach Calvin Bryant said. "Colorado and New Mexico have put offers on the table."

"Hawai'i also came by today and told me they are interested in offering Justin, but they wanted to make sure that Justin had sincere interest in them before they would offer him," Bryant said. "Justin told me is definitely interested in Hawai'i."

Brown was selected to the Rivals.com California Preseason Top 100 for the class of 2009 landing as the Golden State's No. 45 prospect at any position.
