Alfred Aboya aims high

Senior center Alfred Aboya (6-9, 245) is one of the most improved players on UCLA squad this season and though the box score doesn't always show his contributions, they have been huge for the 11-2 Bruins, especially on the defensive end of the floor.

Aboya is hitting 56.3 percent of his shots from the field and has even shown improvement from the charity stripe hitting 63.6 percent of free throws.

You played for the Cameroon national team over the summer. Did that help prepare you for your season season?

Aboya: "Every time you have the chance to play it helps and to have the opportunity to play at a higher competition. We played against Puerto Rico, and we played against Croatia that will give you a different experience so it definitely has."
