Big Ten schools looking at Hyde
Fostorio, Ohio dual-threat quarterback Micah Hyde had a huge senior season and proved that he is worthy of the offers he holds.
Every MAC school with the exception of Northern Illinois, Buffalo and Temple has offered Hyde.
"Cincinnati offered but they're all filled up," he said. "Northwestern offered but I think they got some kid they didn't expect to get. I've been talking to Michigan and Iowa some.
"I know that with Michigan being the big program they are, they have some offers out there to some guys. They're going to see who verbals. The coach I'm talking to from Michigan said they just have to wait and see what happens and they'll get back with me after Christmas.
"I think Iowa is pretty close to offering. I think they have one kid ahead of me and they just want to see what he does."
Hyde put up big numbers over the course of his senior season. He passed for 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns while rushing for more than 1,000 yards and 23 scores. He also returned two kickoffs and one punt for a touchdown.
"(The season) went pretty well. We finished 10-2, but in the playoffs we played a horrible game. We just laid an egg."
While Hyde excelled at quarterback for Fostorio he said schools are recruiting him as either a wide receiver or a cornerback.
Coaches from Toledo, Ball State and Akron have stopped by for in-home visits. Hyde has not set up any officials yet, though he does plan on doing that. He was planning on taking an official visit to Iowa over the weekend but those plans fell through.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect runs the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds.
