Shipp ready for the challenge

Senior swingman Josh Shipp will be a key piece of the puzzle if the Bruins are able to get out of Austin with the victory. Shipp has drawn the unenviable task of guarding junior forward Damion James and the Bruins will likely also need Shipp to score. Shipp spent some time with the media the other day took questions from the Gallery.

How motivating is last season's game with Texas, a close loss, for this year's team to go on their home floor and get a victory?

Shipp: "It is definitely very motivating. At the same time this is a new year and a new team. for this year it will be a big win for us. They are a top 10 team. They are highly touted. This is going to be a good game and if we can win this game, it will definitely do something for us."

Coach Ben Howland says Texas has a new defense and one that is closer to the one that you guys run. Is that going to be helpful for your offense?

Shipp: "Our defense is pretty good, so I don't know if that would help us…

Meaning that attacking their defense will be easier because of familiarity since you practice against it every day…

Shipp: "It will be familiar to us because as you said, we practice against it every day. With that aspect it should be somewhat familiar to us, but it is a difficult defense. It is our bread and butter. It is what we bank on at that point it is going to be a hard defense to go against."
