Alfred Aboya meets the press
UCLA senior big, Alfred Aboya is coming off his biggest scoring output as a Bruin, while also giving UCLA fans a scare when it was reported that his wrist would be tested. All's well that ends well, because Aboya was back at practice this week and is raring to go. Aboya met with a host of media earlier this week to answer questions.
How's the wrist?
Aboya: "The wrist is fine. They didn't find anything. The MRI didn't reveal anything and I practiced yesterday and I feel great."
So the wrist didn't limit you at all during practice?
Aboya: "Not at all, I had tape on my wrist and it didn't bother me at all."
Should we expect 22 points from you a night?
Aboya: "(laughs) I don't know, I don't know, one thing I know is every time I step on the court, I will do whatever it takes to help the team win. If that means taking charges or helping on the scoreboard, I'll do that."
How is this team defensively right now?
Aboya: "I think we are struggling defensively. All of the teams we have played so far have been able to penetrate off the dribble. I think the teams we have played are shooting over 40 percent, if I'm not mistaken and that won't get you anywhere so we have to go back to our fundamentals and play the kind of defense that we have played the past three years."
